Overview

268 pages. Ty Cobb was one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He played in the major leagues—mostly for the Detroit Tigers but a bit for the Philadelphia Athletics—from 1905 to 1928, and was the first player ever voted into the Hall of Fame. There is some shelf wear to the top and bottom of the spine, and slight staining to the dark green boards, particularly the front cover. There is a stain on the fore-edge of the pages, but nothing that bled through to the interior. The gilt title, author, and cover design are still bright and clear! The binding is tight, and the interior pages are clean and unmarked. According to the foreword: "The author's purpose has been two-fold: first, to preserve to posterity a reocrd of the remarkable achievements of this super-star of baseball, and, second, to give to the youth of our country a brief history of the career of a man whom they may well choose as a model of clean sportsmanship, up-right living, and good citizenship."
