Shipping and Handling FAQs
We apologize, but orders placed on HPB.com can't be shipped to one of our stores. We like to ship your items straight into your hands.
Each item in an order ships separately, regardless of whether the items come from a single seller or multiple sellers, so you will be charged the standard rate to ship each item. Half Price books is not able to consolidate shipments.
If you choose Trackable Expedited, One Day Air, or Two Day Air as your shipping method, you can track your order’s progress after it has shipped. Just sign in to Your Account to review and track your orders. Other shipping methods are not trackable (so you’ll just get a big surprise when they arrive!).
Shipping options and rates for items other than books, movies, or music vary by weight and your shipping address. While we provide estimated shipping costs at various steps throughout your shopping experience, the actual shipping rate will be displayed during checkout after you have chosen a shipping method and delivery address.
You can request second day and next day shipping on any HPB.com item. Some, but not all, of our independent sellers also offer rush shipping methods: the supported shipping methods for each item are displayed within the description.
If you receive an order shipped between countries, you may need to pay import duties and taxes, which are usually assessed when the package reaches your country. The carrier will notify you of any extra charges and how to retrieve your package. You, as the importer of record, are responsible for these and any other additional charges and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country where you receive the goods. Because policies vary, please contact your country's customs office for more information.
HPB.com reserves the right to charge extra for shipping extremely heavy books, movies, or music items. The actual shipping cost will be displayed once you are in the checkout process and you select a shipping method and specify your shipping address.
Extra shipping charges may be assessed by independent sellers when you order multi-volume sets (like that awesome Doors compilation), or exceptionally large or heavy books (tip: great for a travel work-out if you don’t have dumbbells handy). If you order a large item or set, we recommend contacting the seller beforehand to find out if non-standard shipping charges will apply.
