Zoe's first day at a new school in a new town was painfully average until she meets a strange boy named Digby. They become fast friends as Digby convinces Zoe to help him look for a girl who went missing recently. Through their investigation, Zoe learns that Digby is a whole lot of trouble and soon finds herself involved in things she never imagined she would be. Trouble is a Friend of Mine is a fun debut novel from Stephanie Tromly. I initially picked it up because of the cute cover and the inside did not disappoint. It's a unique twist of teen mystery with a bit of romance. Digby really starts to grow as a character as more is revealed about his painful past and Zoe's true character is tested. This is a great summer read for teens!
After meeting the compelling misfit Philip, Zoe soon finds herself in a series of hilarious and dangerous situations as they investigate a local teenage girls kidnapping that may be related to the disappearance of his kid sister eight years ago.
