When Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent away to live with an old professor during the London bombings in WWII, they do not realize the magic they will discover. When Lucy steps through an old wardrobe into the land of Narnia, she discovers a land in turmoil, under the influence of the evil White Witch, who makes it forever winter and never Christmas. Children for decades have loved this story, wandering the woods of Narnia in their imaginations. All of the children are different, and everyone has someone to relate to. Strong Peter, doubtful Susan, trusting Edmund, and imaginative Lucy all help create the wonderful world of Narnia. #SummerReading
#SummerReading I've been reading all of the Narnia series this year, and this book is my favorite of the seven. I love the plot line and how the Aslan relates to Christ, it is over all a great!
A powerful story that pleases readers and listeners of all ages. I have both read this myself several times and read it aloud to my children. Lewis is a first-rate story teller who creates a world and characters that will remain with you always. #SummerReading
My now grown children really enjoyed thus book & movie; now my granddaughter is reading it and I thought it would be a great opportunity to discuss, compare and contrast with her. While it is an early fantasy piece of work, I could discern the interpretive references to GOD. Sacrifice, reliability, ever present and omnipotent is the Lion! Nice "escape" during Lockdown! #SummerReading
My dad read the Narnia series to me when I was little, and I have nothing but good memories. We always listen to the audio books on long road trips. The movies are also great. #SummerReading
