The Canadian Cook Book

The Canadian Cook Book

by The Ladies of the Central Christian Church, Canadian, Texas (1911)

Description: Compiled by the nice church ladies of Canadian, Texas - a town in the panhandle near Oklahoma. The olive cloth-covered boards have some fading, the extremities light wear, and a rubbed & worn area along the spine's head's edge. There is also a faded area on the back that looks to have been caused by liquid that removed the colour from the cloth. Christmas gift inscription to ffep. Some smudging to page margins here and there. Advertisements throughout the text, presumably from local businesses who helped with publishing costs. Age spotting to page edges. Recipes are of typical hearty fare, although "Spider Corn Cake," "Ellen Nut Cake," "Sardine Salad," and "Ox Eyes" sound intriguing. .
