Stardust tells the tale of young Tristran Thorn, a boy growing up in the English village of Wall, named after the wall running along side the village. On the other side of the wall is the land of Faerie, a magical place where witches and goblins and other creatures make their home. Tristran falls in love with Victoria, who promises anything he wishes should he bring back the star that fell across the wall. So Tristran does what no one dared to do before and crosses the wall to find the star. But a fallen star is a popular thing in Faerie, so Tristran and the star work to outwit and outrun witches, evil lords, goblins, forests and all sorts of trouble. Gaiman writes a wonderfully engaging fairytale with the right mix of suspense, fantasy, romance and adventure.
In the sleepy English countryside of decades past, a lovelorn young man stepsthrough a gap in a high stone wall, and into the most unforgettable adventureof his life.
