This book starts with a classic switched identity story leading the Antichrist to be sent home with the wrong family. As the armies of Good and Evil amass and prepare for the final battle, a demon and an angel who have been living on Earth keep messing up the plans. After being on Earth for so long they have become old friends. Beginning with the switched babies the book winds along a farcical path with mishaps along the way. The little details in this book are the funniest. There are constant recurring jokes and plenty of wacky and morbid British humor. Gaiman and Pratchett's styles blend perfectly together to make a book about an incredibly dark subject extremely funny. I really enjoyed reading this the first time and I'm looking forward to reading it again and looking for details I missed the first time around.
The world is going to end next Saturday, just before dinner, but it turns out there are a few problems--the Antichrist has been misplaced, the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse ride motorcycles, and the representatives from heaven and hell decide that they like the human race, in a new edition of the classic novel, featuring a new afterword from the authors. Reprint.
