If you have ever Ever, EVER had to deal with a small child who is Most Definitely Not Allowed To Do The Thing, this book is the best thing on earth. It begins with the bus driver taking a quick break and leaving the bus in your capable hands. Everything seems fine at first...and then you hear it. Quietly, (almost inaudible, really) "Hey...Let me drive the bus." This entire book is the character Pigeon trying to convince you, the reader, to allow him to drive this bus, which is the only thing in the entire world that he has ever wanted to do, apparently. It is wonderfully funny and engaging to smaller readers, and laugh-out-loud hilarious to parents and older siblings who have dealt with much the same behaviour from younger family members. All in all, a fantastic, humorous children's book, complete with angry pigeons and whimsical crayon illustrations. Can the pigeon convince you to let him drive the bus? Pick up a copy and find out!
In this hilarious picture book debut, the popular cartoonist ("Sesame Street, Sheep in the City") perfectly captures a preschooler's temper tantrum in the guise of a pigeon who pleads, wheedles, and begs his way through the story. (Baby/Preschool)
