Overview

This book is tragic. Signed by Dali and dated on the front pastedown. The book went through a flood and did not receive any immediate attention so there are mold stains on the boards, and most of the pages are at least partially adhered to each other at the bottom outside corners. The dust jacket is tattered and dampstained also. There is a large dampstain on the board that Dali signed as well as a gift inscription that predates his autograph. The book carries some documentation, including an earlier estimation of its worth (probably for an insurance claim) from Art Conservation Associates in New York, as well as a witnessed statement of transfer of ownership by gift to the person who sold it to us. Any areas that seemed as though they might contain active mold have been treated with alcohol and the cleansing Texas sun, so we are relatively certain there is no active growth. Dust jacket is now protected in mylar and the front board is separated from the facing pages, also with mylar.
