Storytime & Crafts Sundays
Pack up your half-pint readers and come to our Flagship HPB for Storytime & Crafts Sundays. Sit down and enjoy a good tale and a special craft activity with us each Sunday from 1 to 2 pm. Recommended for kids ages 10 and under.

Animal Adoptions
Cute kitties and canine companions will be visiting our Flagship HPB on the third Saturday of each month from noon to 4 pm. The League of Animal Protectors, a nonprofit animal rescue and adoption organization, will have a select group of adoptable pets looking for good, forever homes.

Comic Book Wednesdays

Our Flagship HPB has two signed and numbered, slipcased, limited edition books by Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney; Opened Ground: Poems 1966-96, number 268 of 300 and Heaney’s award-winning translation, Beowulf, number 274 of 300 publicly sold copies. Abraham Lincoln Book Collection
Our Flagship HPB has a fabulous collection of historical and folkloric books about America’s 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. Collectibles include a four volume set of Abraham Lincoln 1809-1858, Manuscript Edition, by Albert J. Beveridge. This set has been called a literary and historical masterpiece. Next is a two volume set by early 20th century writer and lecturer, the Rev. William E. Barton, titled The Life of Abraham Lincoln. Looking for a poetical combination of fact and folklore with a bit of provenance? We have a first edition, two volume set of Carl Sandburg’s Abraham Lincoln: The Prairie Years, signed by both Sandburg and publisher Alfred Harcourt with accompanying letter of authenticity. For an artist’s perspective, try Following Abraham Lincoln 1809-1865, signed by artist and author Bernhardt Wall. The book is full of Wall’s etchings of famous Lincoln landmarks. Prices vary.
